New Permanent Hair Removal Device

Anyone with excess unwanted hair will be pleased to hear about this new product from Boots. Now you can use salon type Intense Pulse Light treatment at home. Having used the Rio alternative I was a bit sceptical at first. The later one involved doing each individual hair one by one, and despite being advertised as painless has caused some discomfort. And don't get me started on the smoke effect when it hit a longer hair... Unable to find in-depth reviews on the web I decided to conduct a little trial of my own. Just got one of the devices (they have a nice discounted price till 5th May) and done my first session - the test patch. Immediately the differences are astonishing. The area covered in a single pulse is quite big. Although the package warns about possible heat or warmth feeling I could only vaguely relate to it - 1 out of 5 pulses in total gave me a slight tingling sensation, which I definitely couldn't call it unpleasant. The device is very easy to use - no keys and codes to enter, just make sure you set your right skin tone and off you go. The light works in conjunction with the Boots Cooling Gel of which you get a sample with the product. However I was positively surprised here too, as the sample is a full big tube the same size as the extra ones you can buy yourself at Boots later. Smooth Skin promises lasting results after 6-10 weeks, just like salon treatment requiring several sessions due to varied hair growth. For anyone interested I will be documenting my progress over the next couple of weeks. |
